February 13, 2011 is a great date!
Andrea D. Schindler, The Regional English Language Officer, visited Tangier Access Center on Sunday, February 13th 2011. All members of Tangier Access Micro Scholarship Program welcomed her and were so happy to meet her and Mr. Abdellatif Khadra, the Regional English Language Office Assistant. All students appreciated this visit because it is regarded as a push to encourage them work better, learn more and achieve their best in the future. Also, a shower of thanks from Access teachers and students to Mrs. Andrea and Mr. Abdellatif as well for their great interest and efforts to lighten access program and make it open all over the world. Under the soft music of John Lennon and especially his song "Imagine" played by Mr. Abdellatif, we closed this wonderful day hoping to meet them again in the near future.

Enjoy your day with Access activities
It was a sunny Sunday; the teacher proposed to play soccer together. It was a very good idea. We went to the field after having our breakfast of course. Then, we were divided into 4 teams, and the rest of the students were like supporters.
We started to play, we did firstly a raffle to choose the two first teams who are going to play against each other; the rules were like that: the team who scores the first goal will stay and the loser is out.
After playing for about an hour, we had a break. We took some pictures between the flowers, under the sun and having fun.
After, we moved to play another game, and like the first one, the teachers participated with us in playing, too. We decided to play sprint racing, it's a competitive game, we stayed in teams and raced; we did it with a hot competition. The loser teams accepted the loss with sportsmanship, but the winner played the lion's role.
It was really an excellent day, we knew each other better, we learned lot of things and the most important thing was playing and talking English as our teacher asked us to do.

Tangiers Access students participated in Beni Mellal Festival of Access Talent Students (FAST) and showed their great interest in learning the English language as well as they reflected the whole year efforts by presenting a short play titled: "Picture day", a video cilp about their Access experience in Tangiers (in Moulay Youssef High School), a public speaking about the topic of "Citizenship" and finally they closed the festival with a nice Access Song which was written on the train to Beni Mellal.It was a terrific experience as they met other Access centers in that challenging competition and at the end they were very lucky to win the first prize Access Tombola 2010. Congratulations to all access participants.

About Access program
The English Access Microscholarship Program
(Access Program) is highly effective in providing a significant English language learning experience to non-elite 14 to 18 year old students. The Access Program also helps students develop a greater appreciation for U.S. culture and values, increases their self-confidence, encourages critical thinking and open-mindedness, and improves their performance in regular school classes. To date, approximately 20,000 students in 44 countries in Africa (AF), East Asia and the Pacific (EAP), Europe (EUR), the Near East (NEA), and South and Central Asia (SCA) have enrolled in the Program.

Access TV show
Access TV show is one example of our classroom activities which help us use the English language and communicate freely with our friends and teachers. "listen, read, speak and write" are our favourite skills!Thanks to Access program, we become able to use these four skills correctly and to use English inside and outside the classroom. We really love English.
About Tangier
We live in Tangier. It`s our home city. It’s in the north of Morocco. It is between the Mediterranean and Atlantic Ocean. It is near the Spanish coast, It is just some 14 km away from. It is a bridge between Africa and Europe.Our home city has a special warm weather. It has also many green spaces like parks, gardens, forests, and a long seaside. Our lovely city has two kinds of streets clean and large streets in the city center and narrow and popular in old medina. In Tangier, there are new, modern and high buildings. Moreover, Tangier a lot of monuments like Al Kasbah, Badlebhar and Hercules caves. Concerning people of Tangier, they are generous, helpful, kind, friendly and very polite. Their favorite food is tajine of fish with vegetables and their favorite drink is green tea. They like sports very much, for example basketball, handball, horse riding and hunting as well. For this reason, our home city attracts many tourists from different parts of the world.

We are writing to tell you about the soprts facilities in our area.
First of all, most of the public schools in our city have soccer fields, gymnastics, basketball courts and volley ball ones. But, in private schools there are more facilities than in the public ones like swimming pools and some tennis courts.
Our basketball team is wonderful!
About the out-door facilities, there is a shooting, galery, horse-riding, golf royal club and arace track.There are also many awesome beaches where you can practice surfing, diving and waterski. We think you are going to enjoy your time here in our city.
